IU School of Social Work is headquartered on the IUPUI campus with locations on 8 IU Campuses. The school also has the Department of Labor Studies
We are the future and current social work practitioners who are dedicated to promote social justice, diversity, advocacy, and equality for all individuals. We work to fight oppression on groups and individuals through use of empowerment and raising awareness.
Bachelor of Social Work students have organized a Student Association on the IU Northwest Campus and membership is open to any social work undergraduate or graduate student. The School recognizes the student organization as an integral component of professional education. Although the organization is autonomous, the BSW Program Director serves as the SSWA advisor and facilitator for the organization in order to encourage group identification and student participation in the formal decision-making process of the School.
BSW and MSW students elected by their peers participate in IU Northwest’s faculty as a whole standing committee. Through their representatives students contribute to the formulation and modification of policy affecting academic and student affairs, and participate in the ongoing evaluation of the social work programs.
